Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressive agent. Protopy is available in the form of ointment for cutaneous use....
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Tacrolimus binds to an intracellular protein, FKBP-12. A complex of tacrolimus-FKBP-12, calcium, calmodulin, and calcineurin is then formed and the phosphatase activity of calcineurin inhibited.
Tacrolimus, as an immuno-suppresant with a low aqueous solubility, has been widely used for the inhibition of graft rejection in organ transplant recipients. INNOPHARMAX OralPASŪ Tacrolimus gel Capsules are designed to improve the bioavailability of Tacrolimus via oral administration.
