The NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) Research Institute serves as a focal point for more than 1,000 active research projects and nearly 200 externally funded research faculty. Funding from the NIH places NorthShore among the top 10 comprehensive research hospitals in the country, #1 in the State of Illinois, and in the top 5% of all institutions. Priority areas for research are medical genetics, cancer, neurosciences, advanced imaging research, cardiovascular, peri-neonatal, and outcomes research.
