INN-413: An orally active Anti-estrogen receptor (SERD) targeting breast cancer

A new class of compounds with pure anti-estrogen activity has been identified. The compounds are structurally unique and possess higher affinity to the human estrogen receptor and exhibit a substantially increased oral bioavailability than faslodex.

Innoventus has together with the inventor identified/developed a new class of compounds with pure anti-estrogen activity. The patent protected compounds are structurally unique and have high affinity to the estrogen receptor and are potent antagonists in vivo. A lead compound, INN-0413, with favourable characteristics has been selected.

INN-0413:

  • has very high affinity to the human ERa, Ki less than 0.1 nM
  • potently inhibits the proliferation of human MCF-7 cells in vitro
  • down-regulates ERa in MCF-7 cells
  • is without agonist activity in the mouse uterus assayhas substantially improved oral bioavailability compared to Fulvestrant
  • is effective at 3 mg/kg p.o. in a rat breast cancer model

Following the acquisition of the exclusive worldwide IP rights associated with the invention, Innoventus Project AB has pursued a proactive and structured patent strategy to obtain strong IPR protection both technically and geographically.

Type of business relationship sought

Innoventus' role and competence is, and will remain, in early stage project development and in this project partnering is essential in order to develop a candidate drug and carry it through clinical trials and eventually to the market.

For that reason Innoventus is seeking an industrial partner, which has the desire and resources to manage the project during its subsequent phases.
